Hey, I’m Phaena, I’m 25 and I’m a person of color living in Melbourne.  Like most, if not all people of color, I’ve experienced my fair share of racism in my lifetime.  I’ve also recently moved to a rural town where the racism is especially overt, which was partially the inspiration for me starting this blog as a way to have more of a voice about something I’ve always felt very strongly about, especially in light of the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020.

This blog will be a platform for me to voice my thoughts and feelings on the prevalence of racism in todays society.  I’ll be covering topics like overt and systemic racism, representation of people of color in the media, and how POC are treated by the justice system.  I’m hoping that this will help spread awareness, educate people, and to keep the conversation going about racism, to do my part in what has been a major societal issue for many years.
